Full Screen in Google Chrome on Android (How to Do It in 2024)
In this tutorial, we will show you exactly how to enable Android Chrome full screen mode in just a few simple steps. Read on to learn more.
Enable Full Screen on Android Google Chrome
Follow the steps below to enable full screen on Android Chrome.
1. Tap the Three Dots Menu in Chrome
With Chrome open, tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen. This will open a dropdown menu with more options for your current webpage.
2. Select “Add to Home Screen” from the Menu
Scroll through the options in the menu and tap “Add to Home Screen.” This step allows you to create a home screen shortcut for the current webpage.
3. Tap “Install”
A popup will appear with the option to install the site instead of simply adding it as a shortcut. This is because the website supports Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). Tap “Install” to proceed with adding the site to your home screen.
4. Tap the Shortcut to Open the Webpage in PWA Mode
Tap the icon to open the webpage.
If the site supports Progressive Web App (PWA) features, it will open in full screen mode without the Chrome address bar or controls, behaving more like an app, just like the image below.
5. Swipe Up or Press Back to Exit Full Screen Mode
To exit full-screen mode, swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal your phone’s navigation bar. Alternatively, press the back or home button or swipe the bar up to leave the webpage or return to your home screen.
